Sunday Selections: The Christmas Edition

This Christmas, I have made a deliberate decision to slow down.  To preserve my good will to fellow men, so to speak.  Less partying, no stressing over present-buying and a simple menu for the actual day.  I don't know how it's going to go.  Maybe, I will wake up on Christmas morning with that awful, flat feeling of missed opportunities.  Or maybe I will just be a happier, more relaxed parent, wife and friend.  We'll see.

One thing we ABSOLUTELY can't compromise on is our Christmas tree.  It's an overload of glittery tizz because each year the children make decorations by the dozen.  Some of these are now more than ten years old and they are looking ... well ... ten years old.  Never mind, we put them at the back.

Each child also gets to buy a new ornament, to add to the collection.  They enjoy looking back over purchases from years past and remembering places and people from their younger days.  We are thankful for so many happy memories with family and friends.

Are you having trouble taking nice Christmas photos of your family?  Me too.  I have yet to figure out how to get five kids and a dog to face the camera at the same time.  But I'm not going to stress.

I hope your Christmas brings you no big stress either, just peace and joy.  As it's supposed to.

Linking up with Kim from Frogrockspond again.  Go leave some lovely comments.  It'll be like an early Christmas and you get to be Santa.

  3. Beautiful tree!! I'm going with 2 or 3 colours each year (usually gold, silver and another colour). I guess I can do that because the kids are still young and we don't have any made decorations. I love all the colours in yours. It reminds me of my childhood trees.

  4. That is a beautiful beautiful tree. Some of my favourite decorations are the ones that my children made when they were small. I nearly had a tree this year, this will be my third Christmas without my mother and I think that next year I will be ready to have a tree again. Thankyou for sharing photos of your tree (and your lovely girls)

I know Captcha is a pain. I've had to re-instate it until I figure out what else to do about anonymous spam.
