Thank you to the people who gave me tips on preventing the dog begging at the table while we were eating. We have gone from this....
to this....
The first night that we made him sit on his mat while we ate, he whined and covered his eyes with his paws. Then he tried guerrilla tactics - head down, creeping across the floor on his stomach, hoping that we wouldn't notice.
After many failed attempts, he sat rock-still, his eyes never leaving my face. I felt like Kim Jong-il.
Don't forget to say "Heil" next time we meet, right?
Heartlessly Yours

Oh how funny! Our old lab used to do the same thing - sit there stock still with that hypnotising stare & the GIVE IT TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE noise going on. The best thing that worked was never, ever feeding him from the table. if he tried it on, out he went.

So happy for you! And what a hilarious story of his attempts. Dogs are the best.

A heartless despot ... that takes ADORABLE puppy pictures.
ReplyDeleteI am impressed with your not giving into those puppy eyes. :-)
Don't they do guilt well. We have cats here, but the melting, pleading, guilt inducing eyes are the same.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind! What a gorgeous puppy!
ReplyDeleteWell, who wouldn't resist THAT face????
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm a sucker too!!!
Ok, that has to be the cutest dog ever...I swear I would have a hard time saying no to that one! I love the Christmas pics on the previous post. Those girls are the prettiest little things and your tree is lovely. Have a very Merry Christmas!
